Sacramento and Seattle were chosen as west coast sites, and the Southeast Asia Community Resource Center (Folsom Cordova Unified School District) and California State University, Sacramento provided local coordination of the project. [link to Chippewa recap]

Twenty museum exhibit panels [ Images Shown Below] were prepared by the Chippewa Valley Museum, and were displayed in conjunction with a 4-part lecture [link to ChpwaPosters.pdf] series (info sheets for January 13, February 3, February 24, and March 9, 1996). The exhibit was the focal piece of a museum presentation [link to ChpwaMusPost.pdf] prepared by CSUS Anthropology Department staff and interns.

Participants at the lecture series received a copy of “Hmong in America: Journey from a Secret War” by Timothy Pfaff. Group discussions were led by Dr. Yang Dao, first Hmong Ph.D., Hamline College, Minnesota; Dr. Timothy Castle, author; Dr. Gayle Morrison, researcher; and Dr. Bruce Downing, linguist, University of Minnesota.
